Only a very few graphics cards have the ability to generate a composite sync signal (4xBNC - RGBS) and/or a composite sync-on-green signal (3xBNC - RGsB).

Most ATI and older Matrox cards can generate a composite sync signal, and a few Matrox cards can generate sync-on-green. The problem many users face is that even when the hardware is capable of merged sync, there may be no easy way to enable the feature with software. If the hardware provides register level support for merged sync, PowerStrip controls to enable the feature can be found here: PowerStrip menu > Display profiles > Configure > Advanced timing options.

However, most graphics cards - and these include NVidia, S3, and 3dfx based cards - can only output separate sync signals (5xBNC - RGBHV). To connect these to a monitor requiring merged sync will require a sync adapter.

Sync adapters for US$50 can be found at the following on-line stores:

Connectworld
IEC

Those who prefer to do these things themselves can find a schematic here.
