Hm, wierd, my cabling was fine, but I had a DVI connector on GFX card and I used a transform to VGA to put VGA in monitor (was a stupid thing to do, but it was from my old monitor that only had 1 DVI and 1 VGA connection). I guess DDC get's lost using DVI->VGA port transform...

Your registry "trick" works great.

I know percentage is not very good, but having something to type in the value instead of slide would be ok. But if not, so be it. I don't mind :-)

Hi there again

Since I have changed gfx card I can not get mControl to work OK.

I have 3 monitor setup and mControl only detects monitors 1 and 2, the two that show when Windows is booting.

Is there a way to get third monitor? Now I have a radeon 5750 gfx card and I have 2 DVI connections and one display port one. The one od the DVI's is not shown in mControl, although all three monitors work ok when booted in windows.

Is there some compatibility issues with gfx card that can use 3 monitors at the same time?

Is there some compatibility issues with gfx card that can use 3 monitors at the same time?

Yes there is. Hopefully ATI will correct this in future.

Wierd is this: I ad the same gfx card before in another cvomputer and mControl "worked" with it. So mControl can work with 4850. What could be doing that it can't see the monitors?

I tried Monitor Assets Manager and it says in Real-time 0x0041:

Now I am sure there is a bug in mControl :-(

If I put another display on my gfx card, mControl detects primary display as DCC capable, if I have only one display it doesn't find it. So now I have in DVI the primary monitor and in VGA I have secondary monitor (that I don't even have it is just for mControl to start working) and mControl sees the DVI and doesn't see the VGA one (which I don't have and that is fine)...

Only problem with this workaround is that I have in fact switched on 2 ports to same monitor and desktop must be extended, so I can by accident bring one of my icons on extended display and I can not see it of course...

But this proves that the DCC IS working in ati drivers as I now have recognized my U2410 with same gfx card as before.

Am I correct?

I'm afraid you've misunderstand. The registry does not and cannot show if DDC/CI is available. That is just the way MonInfo displays data it has obtained.

The huge difference between softMCCS+MonInfo on the one hand, and mControl on the other, is that the latter relies exclusively on the OS and display driver. softMCCS and MonInfo include and use their own driver.

Run mControl, go to the mControl menu and Save the diagnostic report, then post it here and I may be able to pinpoint the problem for you.
