I have my PC connected to my HDTV via hdmi for family TV viewing/ recording. When I power off the TV or the AMP, windows insists on changing the resolution from the set 1920x1080x32@50hz to something else (usually lower). When I power back on, the TV sometimes comes back on at 1920x1080x32@60hz which doesn't display right - the desktop is too big for the screen with the start button & half the task bar not visible.

Is there any way to make windows stop this behavior of re plug'n'playing the monitor when the TV/amp is switched off?

I've written a C# program to switch the resolution back if it changes, but would like to stop the problem all together really.

This kind of question is best answered by your trying it yourself, but PowerStrip will normally restore your preferred display timing after any power on or resume event.
