(event viewer, administrative events)

Event Properties - Event 1000, Application Error

+ System

- EventData

   FlashPlayerPlugin_11_8_800_94.exe
   11.8.800.94
   51c4d74d
   pshook.dll
   4.10.3.19
   2a425e19
   c0000005
   0000a001
   4a0
   01ceeb86e8536135
   C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerPlugin_11_8_800_94.exe
   C:\Program Files (x86)\PowerStrip\pshook.dll
   261518d9-577a-11e3-becf-89e6f9df5761

It repeats every 10 seconds (average).
I suspect it is the cause of both firefox and googlechrome hanging frequently [haven't checked yet]

Well, this error event (id=1000) happens with almost any program (maybe using graphics; but not smp). It shows up especially quickly with flashplayer, but even without fp, eventually slowly worsens causing hangs everywhere.
But here's a definitive trick that stops the error: after starting powerstrip, rename pshook.dll (for example pshook'.dll).
Just remember to rename it back to pshook.dll *before* starting it again in the future, otherwise hotkeys won't work.
